Winsent Messenger registry keys


WinSent Messenger settings are stored in Windows registry under the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Winsent Software\WinSent Messenger\Options
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Winsent Software\WinSent Messenger\Options
WinSent Messenger first reads values from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then overrides them with the values from HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
This document describes the registry values located under these keys and their effects.

AppearanceEnabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 enables custom appearance settings.
ContactListDisableEdit DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables contact list editing.
ContactListDisableSearch DWORD Setting this value to 1 hides the contact list item "Find users in network".
ContactListFilePath String The value specifies the path and file name of the contact list database (the value must contain a full path including file name).
ContactListUseFilePath DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program uses the path from ContactListFilePath. If this value is set to 0, the program uses default path.
HotKeyEnabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 enables hot keys. Default value is 0.
HotKeyBrowseLan DWORD The value specifies the virtual-key code of the hot key that opens the "Find users in network" window.
HotKeyOpenIncoming DWORD The value specifies the virtual-key code of the hot key that opens the "Message archive" window.
HotKeyReplyLastMsg DWORD The value specifies the virtual-key code of the hot key that is used to reply to the latest message.
HotKeyWriteNewMsg DWORD The value specifies the virtual-key code of the hot key that is used to write a new message.
LanSrchStateOnline DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program only displays available objects in the "Local network search" window. Default value is 0.
LanSrchTypeComp DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program displays computers in the "Local network search" window. Default value is 1.
LanSrchTypeGroup DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program displays domains/workgroups in the "Local network search" window. Default value is 1.
LanSrchTypeUser DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program displays users in the "Local network search" window. Default value is 1.
LanSrchInNet DWORD If this value is set to 1, the "Local network search" window performs search in the standard "Network/Network neighbourhood" folder. Default value is 1.
LanSrchInAD DWORD If this value is set to 1, the "Local network search" window performs search in the Active Directory. Default value is 1.
LanSrchCheckADState DWORD If this value is set to 1, the "Local network search" window tries to check AD object's state when performing search. Default value is 1.
MessagesHandleLinks DWORD Setting this value to 1 enables hyperlinks in messages. Default value is 1.
MessagesLargeBcastEnabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 enables enlarged broadcast messages (up to 350 bytes). Default value is 1.
MsgArcCntxMenuDelDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables "Delete" menu item of the context menu in the message archive window.
MsgArcDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 completely disables the message archive.
MsgArcFontMsgText String The value specifies font settings for message text in the message archive window.
MsgArcFilePath String The value specifies the path and file name of the message archive database (the value must contain a full path including file name).
MsgArcUseFilePath DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program uses the path from MsgArcFilePath. If this value is set to 0, the program uses default path.
MsgArcOnTop DWORD Setting this value to 1 makes the message archive window stay on top of all other windows. Default value is 0.
MsgArcShowDays DWORD The value stores period of time (days) over which the messages are displayed in the message archive window. Default value is 3.
MsgArcSvcMenuClearDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables "Clear archive" menu item of the service menu in the message archive window.
MsgSendDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables message sending capability.
MsgSendEnableMsgFragment DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program splits large broadcast messages (larger than 128 characters) into smaller parts and sends them separately. Default value is 1.
MsgSendFailSoundNotify DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program plays a sound notification in case of error when sending a message. Default value is 0.
MsgSendFailTextNotify DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program displays a text notification in case of error when sending a message. Default value is 1.
MsgSendSuccessSoundNotify DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program plays a sound notification in case of success when sending a message. Default value is 0.
NetMsgNameUserEnabled DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program uses user name as a messaging name. Default value is 1.
NetMsgNameCompEnabled DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program uses computer name as a messaging name. Default value is 1.
NetMsgNameGroupEnabled DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program uses workgroup/domain name as a broadcast messaging name. Default value is 1.
NetMsgSendTimeout DWORD The value specifies send timeout (500-20000 msec) when sending personal messages.
PopupMsgWndFontMsgText String The value specifies font settings for message text in the popup message window.
PopupMsgWndKeepUntilRead DWORD If this value is set to 1, the popup message window is kept on the screen until all messages are read. Default value is 0.
PopupMsgWndOpenAtNewest DWORD If this value is set to 1, the popup message window displays the newest message when the window opens. Default value is 1.
PopupMsgWndRemoveReadMsg DWORD If this value is set to 1, then the messages that are read will be removed from the message window when it closes. Default value is 1.
PopupMsgWndScale DWORD The value specifies popup message window size in percentage of the screen size (1-100).
PopupMsgWndAspectRationMin DWORD The value specifies the smallest possible popup message window aspect ratio (percentage of height to width).
PopupMsgWndAspectRationMax DWORD The value specifies the highest possible popup message window aspect ratio (percentage of height to width).
PopupMsgWndUseFixedPos DWORD If this value is set to 1, the popup message window is placed in a fixed screen position as determined by PopupMsgWndFixedPosX, PopupMsgWndFixedPosY.
PopupMsgWndFixedPosX DWORD The value specifies popup message window horizontal position in percentage of the screen width (0-100).
PopupMsgWndFixedPosY DWORD The value specifies popup message window vertical position in percentage of the screen height (0-100).
PopupMsgWndToolBarDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables buttons in the popup message window.
RecvMsgMainAct DWORD The value specifies an action to perform upon receiving a message. If this value is set to 1, the program opens the message in the popup window. If this value is set to 2, the program opens the message archive window. If this value is set to 3, the program does not undertake any action. Default value is 1.
RecvMsgPopWndAutoclose DWORD If this value is set to 1, the popup message window closes automatically at the expiration of the period specified in RecvMsgPopWndDeadline. Default value is 1.
RecvMsgPopWndDeadline DWORD The value specifies a period of time (in seconds) during which the popup message window stays on the screen before it automatically closes. Default value is 10.
RecvMsgSoundNotify DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program plays a sound notification when a new message arrives. Default value is 0.
SoundEnabled DWORD If this value is set to 1, the program enables use of sound notifications. Default value is 0.
SoundEventIncMsgBcast String The value specifies a name of a sound file used for sound notifications when receiving group messages.
SoundEventIncMsgPriv String The value specifies a name of a sound file used for sound notifications when receiving personal messages.
SoundEventSendFail String The value specifies a name of a sound file used for sound notifications in case of error when sending a message.
SoundEventSendSuccess String The value specifies a name of a sound file used for sound notifications in case of success when sending a message.
SysLanguageFile String The value specifies a name of a language file that contains localized strings for user interface.
TrayIconDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables tray icon. Default value is 0.
TrayLeftMouseBtn DWORD The value specifies an action to perform when left mouse button is pressed on the tray icon. If this value is set to 1, the program opens contact list. If this value is set to 2, the program opens the message archive window. Default value is 1.
TrayMenuExitDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables "Exit" menu item in the tray menu.
TrayMenuOptionsDisabled DWORD Setting this value to 1 disables "Options" menu item in the tray menu.
UserSignMsgWith DWORD The value specifies which signature will be used when sending messages. If this value is set to 1, the program signs messages with user name. If this value is set to 2, the program signs messages with computer name. Default value is 1.
