Windows system settings required for proper operation of WinSent and Sent
In order for Winsent Messenger, Winsent Innocenti, Sent to work properly some of the Windows system settings must be configured on all computers running these programs. Please make sure that:
- Windows Messenger Service is disabled (Windows NT/2000/XP/2003). This is only required if you installed Winsent Messenger or Winsent Innocenti. The Sent utility does not require the Messenger Service to be disabled.
- Network adapter settings allow use of the "NetBIOS over TCP/IP".
- "File and printer sharing" exclusion is enabled in Windows Firewall and the following ports are enabled: UDP 137, 138 and TCP 139, 445 (Windows XP/2003/Vista/7).
- "Network discovery" and "File and printer sharing" are enabled in your network profile (Windows Vista/7).
If these conditions are not meet, WinSent will not be able to send and receive network messages.
